Can we get better at learning? Yes. It's a skill like any other. What if each of us dedicated just one hour per week to the art and science of learning and teaching? At the very least we'd become more efficient at everything we do. Programming and other technical skills have a high barrier of entry. How can we lower this bar so that, together, we can solve more problems, and more challenging problems? Questions are highly esteemed here. All people are welcome. Come as you are. Join in by asking the first question that comes mind. Or you could let us know about your learning and teaching aspirations. Or, just hang out and listen. It's totally up to you. Welcome to The Value of Learning community.
This community was created to continue the talk I started called The Value of Learning. It was graciously hosted at Clojure Remote 2017. Isaac Ardis was also heavily involved in the production of that talk.
We plan to host regular online webinar discussions and hackathons, all of which will be free to attend.
Although both Jay and Isaac are moderators here. This community strives to be an open democracy, where self-organization is given plenty of fresh air and space to flourish. You are welcome to lead discussions, activities, etc. as your own agent of change within this community.
The atmosphere here is bristling with possibilities. What would be the best possible outcome of our work together? Let's aim for that, and if we fall short, let's start over and try again.
